I missed mentioning Mothers Day in last months Email.
So I would like to wish all Mothers a Belated Happy Mothers Day!
I would also like to wish a Happy Fathers Day to all Dads!!!
I'd like to share a letter to the Editor;from My Life Partner Dan List !!!
Dear Jeanne:
When I was a kid growing up in the Youngstown, Ohio, area in the '50's, I did like my Dad said he did as a young man, and I sought out old people and tried to lever their wisdom out for my benefit. My Dad said that he benefited greatly from this. My experience was not so enlightening. The typical sentiment was that "if you didn't go through the Great Depression, you don't know nothin'."
I objected as a 13-year-old to the notion that each generation has to start from ground zero. This has been a central concept for me all these years, that each generation should lay down a course of stones, cemented neatly over the courses laid down by previous generations, like a stonemason building a wall. Our children should leap from our shoulders.
As I watch you laboring hours over your genealogical research and preparing your monthly updates to the many in your extended Family who have expressed an interest in this project, another central concept of mine comes to mind. I have seen in my own life how evil can reach across continents and down at least four generations. I wonder how far the reach of good can be, and wonder can it ever be as strong as the force of evil.
Here you are, exploring the layers of the Fameree "Wall", excavating down eight generations, and you have found a branch of the Family with Poly cystic Kidney Disease. You have helped raise awareness and helped raise money for this cause. The power of good is in operation! Now if the rest of the family becomes a close, frequently-used network of friends, the individuals in the greater Family will have resources to help them through the tough times and emergencies which are part of life. The PKD support is only the first benefit from your efforts. There will be more.
I don't know of any organization in which any more than a very small portion makes the whole thing go. Most people are only along for the ride. I hope that this Fameree/Fammeree/Famre network comes alive with many helping hands. It's easy to be an observer, but much more rewarding to be an active participant.
John Babtistefully,
Dan

Happy Birthday / Bon Anniversaire to all
Richard's Thoughts
Adele will be one year old on June 22. She so completes the circle of our lives
and our family. Rachel and I are blessed. While Adele learns to walk and talk
and certainly play/compose music in her first “studio,” Rachel is preparing to
return to teaching this fall at Northwestern University, and I am beginning two new albums as well as performing and always writing poetry [http://fammeree.blogspot.com/]. This month in London, Ann West is preparing to release the album we wrote together
[www.myspace.com/annwest]. It looks like I’ll be traveling to the UK this month
for a BBC Showcase. And, of course, UniVerse of Poetry is forever expanding [www.universeofpoetry] to include more refugee poets from every corner of the world. Blessings to all our dear family, Adele, Rachel, Richard

Hi Jean, I wanted to Thank You for the invite to meet at the Village Kitchen. I had to work that Saturday but did stop in around 9:00am to see if anyone was there yet. I forgot the time everyone was to meet. I didn't see anyone I knew there at the time. I just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself before I left for work. I will have to catch everyone next time.Thank you for all the interesting updates. My Son,(Jason) and Daughter-in-law (Lieneke) are going to Amsterdam for her Cousins Wedding in August. I do believe they are also going to BELGIUM so I told them about our Fammeree/Fameree relatives over there so I do hope they check the phone book out for me. Thanks again, Jean! Your cousin, Jane
Jane then sent this email
Hi Everyone, Sarah and I are informing all of you about the PKD (Polisystic Kidney Disease)Walk that is held in Green Bay.
We formed a Team last year (Sarah & Andrew, Jody & Peter, and Barry andmyself). We call our selves The Orville & Mike Fameree Bunch.
We wanted to walk in remembrance of them. The Walk this year is on Saturday September 20th, 2008 at Colburn Park in Green Bay. Registration is at 9:00am and the Walk is at 10:00am. We are hoping that you can join us this year. We understand if you can't make it. Alot of you live farther away. The cost towalk is $15.00 each (Adult) and includes a PKD Walk T-shirt. We will get more info to you as it becomes available. We all know how PKD runs in our Family & we all know the importance of finding the Gene that carrys this horrible disease, so we are asking for your help by Walking With Us or Collecting Donations or Finding Cooperate Sponsorship and Most importantly Your Prayers. For those of you who can't make it, we will walk for you. Could you inform your immediate family about the date and time of the walk. Thank You for taking the time to read this. Love, Sarah & Jane
I then forwarded this email to all of you & I will continue to include it until the walk!!
I replied
It's so nice to here from you & I'm sorry we missed you on the 19th.
I got there approx 9:15 & sat at the counter waiting for everyone to get there. Me must have just missed each other. Too bad, I would have liked to meet you. I think I am planning to come home the weekend of your reunion on the 8th & Michelle Asplund asked me to stop by & I think I will take my Dad & a few of my Sisters & stop by. I hope to meet you then.
I also received your email about the PKD walk & I forwarded it to all the Family trying to Rally Support! I will also include the request for support in the June, July & Aug Virtual Reunion Email's
Have a great day & I will talk with you soon. Sincerely, Jean Fameree-Miller
Then I received an email from Nicole Fameree-Gall from Texas
Jean-My name is Nicole. I checked out your blogsite and it's quite a blog; it's a lot of information to take in. I am the granddaughter of Orville and Audrey Fameree, daughter of Orville (Jr.) and Janielle (his 1st wife). We were actually up in Wisconsin last May for Sarah and Andrew's wedding (Aunt Jane's daughter). We got the opportunity to meet Aunt Elsie (my grandfather's sister) at the wedding, which was a pleasure. About myself and familyI met my husband in high school senior year and we've been married for almost 6 and a half years. He is active duty in the Air Force and we are currently stationed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. In the 8 years that he's been in the military, we've been to San Angelo, TX and Okinawa, Japan. We have a son named Kalix, who just turned 2 April 7th. I am a stay-at-home mom and enjoy being able to watch my son learn and grow.
My Response
I'm so glad you responded & glad you got a chance to look at the Blogsite...
I think if you ask your Dad he will Know My Sister Ida & Maybe my Brother Jim(he's Passed). My Dad is Jule Fameree & our tie is My Grandfather Joe was brother to your Great Great Grandfather Frank & their Father was Honore who came over from Belgium with his Father & Mother Jean Babtiste & Claire & ultimately all of the Wisconsin Fameree's are a result of these people!!!
I wanted to ask a couple favors? what is your last name? your husbands name? your birthdays as well as Kalix & do you know any other email address' of Fameree relatives I can contact? Maybe any siblings your Dad or any one else? Maybe if it's not to much trouble you could provide Birthdays for Parents & Siblings...
Thank you for your time Nicole, I look forward to communicating more with you in the future..Take Dood Care, Sincerely Jean Fameree-Miller

It was nice meeting with you the other day. I didn't realize until I got home that I forgot the chocolate bar you gave me. Sorry. The girls loved the flags. They are displayed in their bedroom. I hope to see you again in June.

I'm going to try to make it home for your reunion on June 8th & I hope to get to meet you...
I will also try to attempt to make the Walk in Sept, although I'm pretty much a turtle, but I will definately try!!!. Take Good Care Jeanette. God Bless You & Yours!!!

I received a reply from Hugues Fameree from Belgium after I sent a link to Geneanet .com with some Fameree info in it.
Hi,
A great many thanks for this information. My grand-greatfather is undoubtly included in the branch 10 (Victor Famerée) since he had effectively been teacher in Dorinnes as mentioned in the link. Moreover, I found on an other genealogy web the fact that he was born in Schaltin and the same info's on on his parents as in geneanet. However, with your mail, I gain one step back more! Kind regards, Hugues

I'm glad to work with you & everyone to solve our mystery !!!
So help to understand clearly, Your Father is Andre, his Father is Victor born in 1857 And was a teacher, his Father is Jean Louis born in 1830, & his Father is Pierre Joseph who was married to Marie Catherine Lambert?
I believe our relation lies at least 2 Generations above Pierre Joseph.
There is a Preist / Theologian & his name is Joseph Fameree as well(I included what I think are his email's) & he may have some answers to our quest? He once sent a letter in reply to one of our relatives in Wisconsin, stating that our relationship goes back 8 generations!!!
So this Journey continues... I will continue until I figure this out!
Sincerely Searching, Jeanne

Some correction requested to the scheme: between my father (had 3 brothers) and Victor, there was Jules, self employee (had 2 sisters and 4 brothers): for the remaining part of the tree, branch 10 seems to be consistent, but as I told you, the last step (Pierre Joseph oo Marie Catherine Lambert) is new info for me. For the missing link, it must be a minimum of 2 or 3 generations. There was a priest Joseph, brother of my grand father Jules, but there is no link with the theologian corresponding with you, and there is also a missing link with the Famerée living currently in Schaltin. Kind regards, Hugues

I am still confused on your lineage, I have been comparing your excel family tree to your info giving, to the geneanet info, I understand they missed your Father & his brothers & they also missed Victor & Jules Siblings, could you update your excel document of your family tree & highlight your path? Because according to your spreadsheet from April 4 08, you have Jules & Victor listed as brothers, but I understood Victor was your Great Grandfather, but you mention below that Jules is your Grandfather, does this mean that Jules Father is Victor?
I think if you update your Family tree & send it, it will help me to understand better.
Thanks for all your help Hugues. Sincerely, Jeanne

Hello Jean,Hope this finds you doing well.On Thursday, we made a trip to GB to see G-mom Libbie. She is in thehospital and trying very hard to be strong. She fell sometime betweenSaturday night and Mother's Day. It is unclear whether or not shesuffered a stroke. It is difficult to understand her words. She isconnected to many tubes. She really wants to go home :)At 98 she continues to be brave and strong willed. I feel so for thechildren faced with making tough decisions for her care. I never really feel cheated n life with this visual impairment whichkeeps me from driving except when it comes to being able to go to GreenBay when I want / need to. Jim works every Saturday at the Post Office so when we go up onSaturday night and come back home on Sunday night, our visits are always shortand jammed packed with visits.I've been trying to find ride shares through Craigs list and e-rideshare.com for Friday nights, but it is risky and not so common of an area. Many ride share offerings go to Minneapolis and Chicago from theMadison area. Anyway, I will continue looking especially given grand child#2 is soon to make her/his way into our world around June 1st.We have planted a garden this year. The first time we have plantedorganic seeds as far as vegetables and herbs go. This is not to say weplanted a lot because it is small compared with others, but it will befun to see if the strawberry spinach and ground cherries come up. Theyare kind of different garden offerings. We also belong to a community sponsored agriculture program. We buy ashare in a farm which grows organic produce. We receive a box everyweek. It is fun to try different vegetables and herbs. The farm alsooffers strawberry picking. I have been tandem cycling a lot as part of a training program. Ourlong ride is scheduled for 06/14/08. It is a 65 mile ride throughwestern Dane County. The terrain is very challenging as it includes 12 verysteep hills. The name of the ride is Horrible Hilly. It is fundespite the level of physical challenge it presents. I spend as much time ona bike right now as I did while taking a college class. Good thingcollege is done for the summer.Following the bike ride, I'll begin training to run the NYC Marathon inNovember. I am in the hunt for a treadmill so weather cannot be afactor in the training for that event.Do keep me posted of upcoming Richard concerts as it would be fun tomeet you all in person.Below are our family birthdays.
