Another month has passed,
Here are the Highlights & Happenings

This past month held a special note for Dan & Myself, we travelled to the Youngstown Ohio area (Dan's hometown) to attend his Italian Carnival!!! what great fun it is! I really love to go! this year we were able to attend every nite... the special events include THE BABY DOLL DANCE(this is a 7 ft tall paper mache Italian woman figure that a grown man stands up under her skirt to move her around as if she is dancing while the local band plays a traditional italian song & fireworks are blown off out of her outstretched stick arms then at the end out of her head(I know sounds bazarre, but its alot of fun)
then on the last day they have an outstanding fireworks display.
We also worked diligently on Dan's Sanctum Sanctorum & accomplished quite a bit(someday we will be able to go there & just relax AHHH I can't wait).

This brings me to a little invitation regarding
one of OUR BELGIAN TRADITIONS!!!
IT'S LINCOLN The KERMISS on August 24th at the Lincoln Church(This is where many of our ancesters are buried)
there will be a Polka Mass at 10:30 AM, then they will be serving Chicken Booyah, Belgian Trippe, Belgian Pies & many other traditional American picnic foods!!! Also there is a huge raffle along with games for the kids & musical entertaiment. I hope to see many of you there!!!

The email below is from Jane Fameree-Hafeman
Hi Everyone, Sarah and I are informing all of you about the PKD (Polisystic Kidney Disease) Walk that is held in Green Bay.
We formed a Team last year (Sarah & Andrew, Jody & Peter, and Barry and myself). We call our selves The Orville & Mike Fameree Bunch.
We wanted to walk in remembrance of them. The Walk this year is on Saturday September 20th, 2008 at Colburn Park in Green Bay. Registration is at 9:00am and the Walk is at 10:00am. We are hoping that you can join us this year. We understand if you can't make it. Alot of you live farther away. The cost towalk is $15.00 each (Adult) and includes a PKD Walk T-shirt. We will get more info to you as it becomes available. We all know how PKD runs in our Family & we all know the importance of finding the Gene that carrys this horrible disease, so we are asking for your help by Walking With Us or Collecting Donations or Finding Cooperate Sponsorship and Most importantly Your Prayers. For those of you who can't make it, we will walk for you. Could you inform your immediate family about the date and time of the walk. Thank You for taking the time to read this. Love, Sarah & Jane

I then forwarded this email to all of you & I will continue to include it until the walk!!

Happy Birthday / Bon Anniversaire to all

Richard's Thoughts
Just back from London (where I performed two BBC showcases and recorded at Abbey Road, Studio 3) and Chalice Wells/Glastonbury Tor (summit of the isle of Avalon),

I offer my poem-song

“Green Man.”

If we were one God,we would feed each other everything;and everything would eat us, and we would never die. My tongues would serpent in your templewhere water becomes blood; and the pink imprint of our lips would be a talisman above the bed.We would not need to protect our skin from light; we would not need to protect our skin from skin; and nothing red would be unclean at the mouth of the Tigris. I know what the dark book teaches, but the garden is within us all.I am a green man, and I am my messiah now.I am not embarrassed, I am not alone, I am not afraid.I cannot lose anything, for nothing is mine. And I will never be hungry, for everything is mine.Where, then, is the throne of heaven. I know what the dark book teaches, but the garden is within us all.If we were one God, we would not appease fathers of don't. We would kiss the tips of each other, for lips are the spout of the fountainand eyes, the light of the fountain.Nipples are ready to blossom, and a rose is a mouth of the mother.I am a finger, and you are a finger. Our hand is a leaf, our leaf, a wing, and leaves and wings will cathedral us again.I know what the dark book teaches, but the garden is within us all.

Blessings to all our dear family, Adele, Rachel, Richard http://fammeree.blogspot.com/

"The Responders"

Kathy Ducat from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin Wrote about her Tandem Bike experiences,

Aint No Mountain High Enough - My Account of the Horrible Hilly Hundreds Ride
Tandem Captain: Phil KrejciTandem Stoker: Kathy Ducat"Work That Sucker to Death" was a song we could hear often times duringtraining with the Madison BCETS Group. Phil has a way of singing his wayup those horrible hills of western Dane County. One day, he even beltedout the "Candyman" song, but I think it was an extremely weak moment. How my story began:Jim and I joined the Madison Achilles Chapter in May of 2007. Given Iam visually impaired, it was a new way to find folks to guide me intandem cycling, running, or cross country skiing. While riding tandem with Kim Virden, Madison Achilles Founder, alongside of a hand cyclist, late last autumn, we met Phil on the bike path.He stopped us on the tandem and explained he was interested in becomingan Achilles volunteer and that he coached a group for the Horrible HillyHundreds ride. Before we parted, I raised my hand and told him, "Give me some of thatbiking stuff." He responded, "I will be with you on that tandem for the2008 HHH." I smiled and said, "That would be fun!" I was thinking tomyself, "Oh yeah, he has no idea how difficult that would be on atandem." We traded contact info. Phil did become a very dedicated Achilles volunteer. In November, Phil approached me to gauge my interest in training for theHHH. This would mean he would need to learn how to captain the tandem.Lessons for Phil. Trust for me.We rode a few times prior to the snow falling. We mostly stayed on theflats in order to get the start, stop, and emergency communication insync. In February, Jim, my partner and I began spinning classes through theBCETS program. There was soon to be a break in my cycle training as I injured my rightknee during a 10k cross country ski race in Bend, Oregon while attendingthe International Ski for Light Event. I was thankful to hear the newsof a sprained MCL following the MRI - no tears and bike riding was goodrehab. This brought us to March when the outdoor BCETS training rides began. Many chilly and windy days presented additional challenges of learninghow to climb those hills. It was great fun being a part of this group.Everyone is so supportive and friendly. The training continued to add opportunities for growth. Longer rideswith more hills. Phil's sense of humor really helped to get my mind offother life challenges and more on to the matter at hand of conqueringthat next hill. There was one hill we just could not make it up. In fact, we toppledover. Just did not have enough umph to keep the boat a float. Thebiggest mess up during that moment is that Phil forgot to yell theemergency unclip word which was supposed to be f___ (like he meant it).Instead, he muttered sh_t. I did not understand, so I stayed clipped in.We did the Barlow tandem sprawl! No blood, no cars in sight. Good togo. Pick it up and ride on troops! After that event, we hauled the tandem in for the addition of a superlow granny gear. This is really something to fall in love with. Itmakes those climbs much easier if there is such a thing on a tandem.I rode my first century on 5/23/08 with Phil. It was a relatively flatride compared with the training we had completed thus far. It was thefirst time I was a part of a "pace line." It seemed so easy compared toriding hills. We celebrated with fellow BCETS members in Mazomanie. On 06/14/08, the HHH Day finally arrived. Most of our BCETS traininggroup left about 6:00 AM because they planned to ride 200K. Phil and Ihad decided in early May to ride the 100k. Wow, what a ride! There were 5 other tandems registered. The most crushing event tookplace on our first climb up Blue Mounds when a red Comotion pulling atrailer with 2 children in it passed us. We did pass them on the samehill which put my slightly competitive spirit to rest - for a littlewhile. The next notable event took place during our Barlow climb. I had notbeen on that road since our topple over. It was scary. I unclipped myleft foot for a hopefully faster response should it be needed. Zoom wewent. Up and over. There were many screams of joy! That was so neat!Even better than the 100 mile ride of a few weeks ago. After thatclimb, we resolved there would be absolutely no walking on this ride. The last climb was brutal. Up Blue Mounds we went again. We wereexhausted by then. There were writings on the road - "Beer near," "Isthis a hill?""That which does not kill you, will make you stronger." All of thesePhil read to me and it helped to entertain my tired muscles. Near thetop, Barb Wolter, our Achilles friend, ran along with us. At the topKim Virden and Rene Cromer also of Achilles, and Sue Krejci, Phil'swife, chimed in. It helps to have a cheering section. The HHH Ride is well supported and the rest stops are great. Thanks toeveryone who made this a memorable event. Thanks also to all of my friends who helped to conquer those hills :)Vera & Gordon Cunningham and Kim Virden for watching over Elizabeth, myguide dog, and opening their homes to us.Joann Peck who picked me up for the training rides. The Achilles family who connected Phil & I and cheered us along duringtraining and at our finish.Jim Cunningham, my partner, did training rides and transported when hewas not delivering the US mail. I managed to get a few massages fromhim now and again :)Then there is P-hil. He digs those climbs. Think that someone knewwhat they were doing when he was named with the word "hil" in his name:) There is so much to thank you for. Many rides to and from trainingand the most important job of Admirable of the sS commotion! I'll neverforget the feeling of beating Barlow! That 100 mile ride was also greatfun. We kicked some butt in that pace line! You have a great sing songvoice. Dig that "Candy Man" song!:) Thanks for helping me to reach up and over!!! I will work hard tocontinue training and maybe next year, we will set a higher goal. Moremiles! More hills! Oh no I am hooked. Dreaming of the red bike withthe super light components :) Roberts Road anyone?I am filled with blessings of angels in my life. The training and the actual ride was fun, challenging, and motivating.Aint no mountain high enough!!!!!Note: The Achilles-Madison Chapter is open to and serves disabled peopleof Dane County. Achilles was founded by Dick Traum, an above the knee amputee, in 1983.The organization pairs differently abled athletes with a guide for exercise - running, walking, hand cycling, or rolling in a wheelchair.

I then had a phone conversation with Ellen LeCaptain-Naze from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
She is the Daughter of Odile Fameree-LeCaptain.

We talked about her name & how I always thought it was Helen & she said there is a story behind her name...
when she was born her Mother & Father wanted to name her Helen and they Baptised her Helen, but later found out that the Dr. put Ellen on her Birth Certificate, so her Father made the decision that she should be called what was on her Birth Certificate...
So ever since has been called Ellen.
She fondly remembers the Kermiss & also Gullets.
We talked about when she was newly married & her Husband went off to War as well as her 3 Brothers, she went to live with her Mother & Father on the Farm in Lincoln, expecting their 1st child.
She told me where the farm was & I was astounded to find out I knew exactly where it is, however, I never knew they lived there, nor did I know they are related to the family that lives there now.
She also recalled that her Grandmother lived with them when she was young & that she spoke fluent Walloon & they would answer her in English.
It was a very nice conversation & I felt glad I got the chance to talk with her & share many of her memories.

I then received an email from Sylvie Rigot From Brussels, Belgium

Hi Jean
Good to hear from you and thanks again for including me with you monthly emails. We enjoy them very much.
The summer has been good. We will be going to our cabin near Pembine, WI for the 4th of July weekend with our daughter Tara and her family. We are planning a combination vacation and business trip to Montana and Rapid City, SD in September and a few more weekends in northern Wisconsin before the summer is gone.
I have not seen your dad for some time but hopefully we can get together some time when you are up here. Take care Terry

Thanks for the email, it's always great to hear from the family & this sort of short informative piece is exactly what our Virtual Family reunion is all about... Now I share with all in the next month's Virtual Reunion posting on our blogsite & everyone has a better sense of whats going on amongst our relatives.
It would be great if you get a photo while your up in Pembine to include in the Blog for August... My Brother Jim used to have a cabin in Pembine, then he sold it & bought into the Agamaite's cabin, then he passed away & that's all gone!
Anyhow, it's real nice & peaceful there, I have been to Dunbar & Pembine at other friends cabins.
I was thinking that we could get together for the Lincoln Kermiss, My whole Family should be there & I will extend in invite to all who would like to come.
I will find out the specifics, but I know it's at the end of August, there's usually a Polka Mass Then Afterwords they serve Booyah & Trippe, Burgers & Hot dogs. there's a huge raffle & games for the Kids. Also they have Belgian Pies (yumm).
Think about it, I think it will be a great time. Take Good Care Terry.
Sincerely, Jeanne

Next Daryl Barnhouse (Tammy Collins-Barnhouse' Husband) from Arkansas wrote,

Jean,
You spoke with my wife a while ago about the family tree and I’ve finally got time to get back to work on the Collin Family portion of the Fameree line. My wife is Tammy Collins, daughter of Eugene & Madella Collins, Gene is the son of John & Libby Collin, and John was the son of Desire & Caroline (Fameree) Collin.
Please include me in the Virtual Family Re-union mailings.
I’ve attached a GEDCOM file. Hopefully you’ find it useful.
My Response
Thanks for getting back with me, I appreciate the information you sent me!!!
I have a Family Tree in the works on Geneanet, please visit the site at http://.geneanet.org/fameree , now my quest will be to try to merge your GED file to mine, I'm not sure that I can I have all information up to "approx" Tammy's generation I may have to manually input the rest, if that's the case, maybe you could run individual reports on each child of John & Libbie & email copies to me, each Family tree maker software has the capabilities to run such reports then you could save to your hard drive then send to me as an attachment. or if you have any suggestions I'm open,
I will definitely add you to my Virtual Reunion list...
This past mailing I sent out for July 1st & because they were getting to be so large, I just sent notification that our Blogsite has been updated & the same info can be found there.
The link is http://fameree.blogspot.com/ , I encourage you & your family to visit this very informative Family site, you will be able to find all of the past Virtual Reunion letters & also all pictures, land documents & a link to a Family tree document (that needs updating)
also I would like for you to send me a family picture, listing who is who & tell me what your family is doing for fun & adventure this summer, it makes for great reading & helps to complete our mission of bringing our families together. HAPPY READING!!! hope to hear from you real soon..BTW, soon I will be scanning some very old pictures I found in my Dads attic & once that's done I will email you copies & post them on the blog.
I still have to try to figure out who's who, however I made positive Id's on Caroline & Desire Wedding Photos & others you all may find them interesting.
Ok, Take Good Care. Sincerely, Jean Fameree

I then received a letter from Elsie Fameree-Gengler
It read
Dear Jean,
I'm so sorry I didn't get a letter off to you sooner- to say thank you so very much for all the information of happenings in the Fameree Family.
I thank my Sister Ethel for telling you I'd be interested. All the work & so very interesting - all the relatives in some way, that we have - it's unbelievable.
I'm Elsie Fameree-Gengler 3rd child of Ernest & Emma Delain-Fameree. I was married to Al Gengler for 49 years, 2 months, & 13 days & he passed away on April 28, 1996.
We have 4 Children - but I'll write things about them in a seperate letter. I want to go back to the first letters, etc. you sent. I just had to write & thank you, it was so nice.
I remember your Dad well & your Grand Parents - Uncle Joe & Aunt Ida - such wonderful - hardworking people. We would go there with Mom & Dad after we were married - and of course they spoke Belgian - my Husband didn't understand a thing - so Dad would tell them he didn't speak nor understand, then they would speask in English. What wonderful days & times, the Belgian Pies etc...was always so nice.
Was wonderful you were able to get up to the Fameree reunion - wish I could have met all of you also, I think the last time I saw your Dad was at Sam's Funeral & only for a couple minutes - they were pushing us in the line & when I went after him he was gone, but he always comes!
I'll write more again soon - like I said I want to go over the 1st grouping you sent.
Hopefully if you're there next year at the reunion we'll meet.
Love & thanks again Elsie Gengler

I also had several very enlightening phone conversations with Winnefred Pierre-Wittlin, Wayne, Perry & Everett Pierre they are all the Children of Mary Fameree-Pierre who is the 2nd child of Frank & Ernestine Fameree.
We talked of memories of their Mother Mary & how she was a kind & gentle person born in 1907 & how she loved to dance & danced until she was 90 years old ( she has passed away now) Winnefred recalls eating waffles on New Years Day! she also recalls stories of Aunt Kate & her healing abilities, she also stated she heard stories that thru prayer Aunt Kate could stop fires! ( the wind would change).
She recalled that Aunt Kate was her Mother Mary's Godmother & that Aunt Kate always said to her that when she died Mary was to inherit this crocheted Bedspread & how very disappointed her Mother was when after Aunt Kate died she never go the bedspread & Winnefred always remembered how prevelant it was on her Mother's thoughts...

Then I received an email fron Janelle Fameree from Texas (I think)
Hello Jeanne-

Thank you for these family newsletters, it is much appreciated. There is nothing more important than family!

Let me share with you my little branch of the Fameree family. I married Orville Fameree Jr., son of Orville and Audrey Fameree back in 1979. We met while we were in military training school in 1977. We had two daughters; Nicole Michelle (born July 30, 1980) and Danielle Carin (born August 8, 1981). Orville and I were unable to continue our marriage, so we divorced. I retired from the military in 2000 after 23 years of service.
As time past, the girls have grown into fantastic young women, of which I am so proud.
Nicole married Jeff Gall (born September 26, 1980) November 10, 2001. They have a son, Kalix Byron, born April 7, 2006.
Danielle married Zeke Mata (born July 6, 1981) August 20, 2003. They have two sons, Ziyel Ezeriah, born March 7, 2004 and Deziah Esaias, born April 30, 2006.
You may contact the girls, I'm sure they would like to receive the newsletters as well.
I have attached photos of my family for possible inclusion in your next newsletter.
I'm sure the family reunion was a success; I would have loved to visit Wisconsin again. We were there last year for Sarah Hafeman's wedding. I do hope you are enjoying the summer and that it is not as hot there as it is here. I was in Ohio last week, and it was quite pleasant...so I'm assuming that the pleasantness extended even further north.
Continue taking care of yourself and family. Sincerely, Janielle Fameree

I replied
I'm so glad to get to know more Family! & receive Pictures !!! What a beautiful family you have & yes I will include them in the August Virtual Reunion Posting. My Sister Ida hung out with Orville in School & knew him better than I, I knew Mike more because he would come over to my Dad's to help him with Plumbing issues & I even remember Orville's Dad Orville coming over to help Dad out with things as well (I believe that was kind of the way of our Families when we needed help there was always a relative to call on & vise -versa,on the other hand if any one ever needed help my Dad was always there!!!)
This is the kind of thing I'm looking for, to add to our little Virtual Family updates...
Now, I will enter this mailing & pictures in our next posting & whenever you would like to write please feel free.
Oh, By the way Janielle, I just returned from a Vacation In Ohio as well (Youngstown Area)
We actually could have crossed paths!!!
Congrats to you for serving our Country for 23 years "Kudos to You" I feel proud to know you!!! Sincerely, Jeanne

Hi Jeanne: Thanks for the e-mail. I am not sure if I will go to the Lincoln Kermiss. Our grandkids are racing motorcross on their cycles on that day. Emmy got her transplant on Wednesday, July 9th and everything seems to be going well. Keep her and her donor in your prayers. May God Bless. Jeanette Vandervest
