Virtual Reunion February 2010

Hello dear family,

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine.

This February as I sit in deep reflection, I’m struck by the enormity of Our Family Tree & just how long and far the branches reach! I often think of our relatives back in Belgium & when Jean Babtiste & family emigrated from Belgium to the USA & then later to Wisconsin & how truly difficult this journey was leaving loved ones for a new land & the unknown! & then after a time how this Family has grown & blossomed into a huge bouquet spreading far & near! I recently received an email from a relative living in Hawaii who is the Granddaughter of Jule LeCaptain (he is the Son of Odile Fameree-LeCaptain (Honore’s Daughter & Jean Baptiste’s Granddaughter) It was great to know that our family branches intertwine & come back full circle & hopefully we can stay connected & reach out to more Family. I’m sure that if our ancestors knew of our communications, there would be smiles & gratitude for the continued strength of our ties!This month I did a search for pictures of great loves in our family & compiled a series of pictures to capture the spirit of the Month of LOVE!

Family Obituary Notice

Dale Lee Christianson

Lived in Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Tuesday, Jan.19, 2010, at his home with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Nov. 8, 1954, in Sturgeon Bay, the son of John and Delores (Frea) Christianson. Dale was a 1972 graduate of Sevastopol High School. On Feb. 14, 1981, he married Christine Kaczmarek at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Dale had been employed with Peterson Builders Inc., Palmer Johnson Yachts and most recently, ACE Marine in Green Bay. Dale enjoyed bowling, deer hunting, doing jigsaw and Sudoku puzzles, and watching football and stockcar racing. He was the past equipment manager for girls little league softball in Sturgeon Bay. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Chris, Sturgeon Bay; three children, Amy (special friend, Ben Larsen), Egg Harbor; Matthew (Melly), Green Bay; and Sarah Christianson (special friend, Colin Zelhofer), Sturgeon Bay; four brothers and three sisters, Dan (Angie), Egg Harbor; Randy (Ellen), Egg Harbor; Ron Christianson, Linda (Greg) Stommel, Green Bay; Sue (special friend, Pete) Christianson, Florida; Diane (Bob) Heniken, Sturgeon Bay; Greg (Amy) Edwards, Sturgeon Bay; brothers-in-law, Geoff Costley, Menasha; Tom (Jean) Kaczmarek, Sturgeon Bay; two sisters-in-law, Sue (Dave) Zernicke, Green Bay; Karen (Pat) Lamirande, De Pere; mother, Dory Edwards, Sturgeon Bay; stepmother, Dorathy Christianson, Sturgeon Bay; and father-in-law, Joe Kaczmarek, Sturgeon Bay; and many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his father, John Christianson; mother-in-law, Bernadine Kaczmarek; sister, Janice Costley; grandparents, Greg and Ida Frea.
