Hello dear family,
Exciting news,
Cousin Richard Fammeree has a gift for us.
He is launching the next step in family communication and preservation:
He has purchased & created a “Family Website”.http://fameree-fammeree.com
Richard has worked diligently compiling stories pictures & historical information for this site. This is not a replacement for our blog, but a HUGE addition to it.
The following is his request to help him to compile more information to complete his quest.
Please send your stories (in French or English) for "History/Histoire." Include all and any contact information, websites, original music & videos (Simon) and poetry. Whatever you like.
Please send photos and scans of valuables for "Museum/Musée."
Please send photos of your children for "Future/L'avtnir."
Please send whatever you like--including suggestions.
I'm considering this a virtual family museum and archive for our family for generations and generations.
With love, always, Richard Send this info to Richard at fammeree@att.net Or send to me & I will forward.
Check it out I’m sure you will love it.http://fameree-fammeree.com
I also have more exciting information, On my last trip home I was once again going thru some vintage photos from on my Mom’s side of the Family & I came across an old Church Parish Centennial written by our relative Franklin J Bader (Grandson of Caroline Fameree-Collin), in this booklet there was much information regarding St Louis Church in Dykesville, Wisconsin & how many of the early Belgian Settlers ended up in the Dykesville area.I also discovered a wonderful treat in this booklet there was a photo of an antique Spinning Wheel, I suspected it was the Spinning Wheel that Came to the USA along with Jean Babtiste & his Wife Claire .I made a call to Franklin Bader today & confirmed that this is the Fammeree Family Spinning Wheel (which he still has).We had a very nice conversation & Franklin even shared that he is going to be a granddad again his Son Joe & Wife Kristen are expecting their child in October.Congratulations to the Bader family!
Below is the “Fammeree Family Spinning Wheel”
Special Memorial to My Dad Jule Fameree passed 1 year ago March 2
I would like to remind all & share this with our new readers!
A sneak peak at next month A Fameree/Fammeree Holiday
April holds special meaning for all the Wisconsin Relatives!!!
This month holds the birthday of;
*****Jean Babtiste Fammeree****
****April 1st 1810****
It is Jean Babtiste & his Wife Claire Anne Joseph Stuter-Fameree, who are indirectly responsible for ALL Fameree's in the Wisconsin area!!! WOW... So, Going Forward we will have our own little self declared Belgian Family Holiday, every April 1st we will celebrate... John Babtiste Day.
In the past 3 years since I declared this holiday, I try to make a traditional Belgian meal of either Chicken Booyah, Gallettes or at the very least have a drink of Belgian Beer
(American made Blue Moon is pretty good)
I have included the recipes for Chicken Booyah & Gallettes so those of you who don’t have them
Chicken Booyah
1 whole Chicken (a stewing or broiler chicken works best)
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 Large Onion
2 Tablespoons Chicken base or bouillion cubes (6 or 8)
2 or 3 Bay leaves & 2 or 3 Garlic cloves (to be removed from kettle when Booyah is done)(side note; Mary Kaye would never put garlic in her Booyah)
Boil chicken until meat falls off the bone, (several hours) , then remove chicken from kettle & take meat off the bones & cut up the meat into small chunks.
put the Chicken chunks back into the broth and add
4 large carrots chopped
4 to 5 potatoes chopped
1 stalk of celery chopped
you can also add a small bag of frozen veggetables.
bring this back to a boil then lower heat to simmer for 3 to 4 hours.
at this point it is ready to eat
(I like to add egg noodles) just turn heat off add 2 handfulls of egg noodles & let sit for 30 minutes.
Then Enjoy!!!
Gallettes
2 cups (500 ML) flour
2 Tablespoons (30 ML) sugar
1 Tablespoon (15 ML) baking powder
1 teaaspoon (5ML) salt
1 3/4 cups(440 ML) milk
1/3 cup (85ml) vegetable oil
2 eggs
Combine flour,sugar,baking powder and salt.
Stir together milk,oil and eggs.
gradually add milk mixture to the dry ingredients.
stir until just blended.
Pour into Waffle baker.
cook for approx 5 minutes
then allow waffles to cool.
Put waffles in large bowl and set aside.
in a small pan warm milk, maybe 1 or 2 cups
add sugar & cinnamon to taste.
pour over the waffles & cover with a small plate & plce something heavy on the plate,
so the waffles absorb the warm milk.
then scoup out spoonfuls & serve
Bon Appetit!!

A little dusty and turning inwards
At a sudden sound my daughter asks, What is that? convinced there is someone in the back garden; but there is no one, only death standing in the tall snow watching me through the window or perhaps, perhaps, the house plant whose leaves are alreadya little dusty and turning inwards.A little dusty and turning inwards [#56]© 2010 Fammerée

Don’t Forget to Celebrate Jean Babtiste Day on April 1st
He and his wife Claire who came over from Belgium in 1856 are responsible for ALL the Fameree’s in Wisconsin.
I will raise a Belgian Bottle of Beer in his honor!!!
Happy St. Patricks Day Everyone!!!
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand!
Sincerely, Jeanne
