What greater thing is there for human souls
than to feel that they are joined for life~~
to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories

Happy Birthday / Bon Anniversaire to all

Richard's Thoughts

I left home at eighteen years old for Paris with the blessing of my father (who had wanted me to become a doctor, certainly never a poet): “If you want to starve, you may as well begin now.” I carried a writing notebook, an acoustic guitar, a toothbrush, one change of clothes and fourteen dollars.

Before the great facade of the cathedral of Nortre Dame, where Esmeralda had enchanted mdievals, I began performing my young songs and poem-songs and poems. In the tradition of Joyce, Hemingway, Ginsburg and Ferlinghetti, I wrote--and slept as often as possible in Shakespaeare & Company bookshop juste en face across the Seine. My poems and songs had immediately become my vocation, my livelihood, my home. I was called a poete-chanteur, a troubadour, un trouvere, a “beat,” a sprouts-loving hippie, a young Jacques Brel.

There are very few recordings of my performances during the following two decades of my world adventures and pilgrimages. Some miraculously exist. Most of these recordings were sent to me, many by other pilgrims/travelers who found me via the internet years later. All are presented in their original, raw state.

One traveler wrote this, bless her heart:
“Poet and musician Richard Fammerée left home at eighteen with fewer dollars. Beginning before the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, he crossed Europe on foot, often inscribing impressions onto the face of his guitar, intuitively following ancient crusades and pilgrimages, culminating upon Mt. Sinai. Listen for evidence of faerie rings, trysting stones, Goddess temples, Gethsemane, marble theatres and medieval palisades in the west of Ireland, south of France, the mountains of Crete and Morocco, the plains of Turkey, deserts of Jordan and Egypt, and verdant islands of the Pacific. Fammerée is passionate as a renaissance philosopher, daring as the troubadours, profound as his faith in life. He elicits the complex purity of myth and metamorphosis. To experience the exotic--and often erotic--adventures of love and love lost, self and self found, to rekindle fantasies and faith, delight in these CDs, these seminal recordings, this
transcendence.” - A. de Stael

"The Responders"

Harriet Collin-Ducat wrote 1st
Deanna and Phil Ducat, Son of Harriet (Collin) Ducat and Roland, had a baby girl on March 30,2009, on Roland's birthday. She will be baptized Sunday May 17 at St Joseph Church, Champion, Wi. Her name is Evelyn Rose, 7 lbs 13 oz, 21 inches tall.

Did you know Charles LeCaptaine passed away, son of Joe and Odile LeCaptaine.
And also another passed on of the family. Ardella Collin, wife of Carl Collin-daughter in law of Jennie and Noris Collin passed away Sun, 5/24/2009. She is the daughter of Art and Louise Lemens. Ardella is a sister to Rosella Collin, wife of Joe Collin. The visitation is at Malcore Funeral Home, West, on Wednesday night, with the visitation continuing on Thursday at 11:00 and the funeral at 12:00, at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard.
The full obituary is in the Green Bay Press Gazette, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Harriet Ducat

Next Monica Koch-Coenen emailed the following update
Thanks for the update Jean! I enjoy the family history...and the good Lord knows I don't have the time to research it on my own!

Here's some news in the Wayne & Joyce Pierre clan...I don't think anyone will mind if you post any of it:
1. Craig and Marie (Pierre) Koch and Brian and Amy (Pierre) Brownson are both celebrating their 25th Anniversaries in 2009. Craig & Marie's anniversary was in May and Amy and Brian's is in July.
2. Theresa Brownson will be marrying Ross Frey in November of 2009.
3. Nicole (Pierre) Hill, daughter of Willy & Ginny Pierre, and Nicole (Werner) Pierre, wife of Jeremy Pierre, are both expecting new additions to the family soon...though I can't remember which month they're each due.
4. Graduations: Meredith Koch, St. Mary Central High School; Theresa Brownson, UW-Madison School of Pharmacy, D.Ph.; Susie Pierre, UM-Minneapolis, B.S. (I think Biology?)
5. Unfortunately, I personally have no major life events of my own to report, but I am excited to be singing in the select chorus in the Fox Valley Symphony's production of the opera Carmen tomorrow. I suspect my musical ability comes from the Belgian side of the family, because my dad can't sing. Cheers! Monica (Koch) Coenen

Then comes a note from my Cheery Friend Kathy Ducat
Hope this finds you doing well.
I am extremely busy at work – putting in 12 hour days.
Need to have a vacation to look forward too….
Will you help? Any news on a trip to Belgium?
How about a simple trip to Chicago? Have you any plans to attend a Richard concert? Take good care cousin!
All of our Sun Prairie Best, Kathy & Jim

I then Received an Email from Mary LeCaptain
Hi,
I'm Charles LeCaptain's daughter. I went with him many times to visit your father, Jules. My condolences on his passing. As you know, my dad just passed away, too.
I thought you might find the attached interesting. I made this into a book. If you are interested and would like a copy, I may have an extra one. It includes a lot more information, including maps of Belgium where our families are from. I believe I could trace the Fameree’s back to the early 1600s.
I have fond memories of growing up on the farm in Door County, eating Belgian cream pie, and going to kermiss. Mary LeCaptain

I responded
I am so glad to hear from you!!!
My Sincerest Sympathies to you & your Family with the loss of your Dad, I can empathize!!
I do find all the attachments very interesting, I admire all your hard work.
I definitely would like to talk with you more, I would like a copy of your book & any info you would care to share with me & I will reciprocate...
I have traced the Fameree's / Fammeree's / Famre's back to early 1700's then the roadblock arises.
I will attach my excel doc of the Family tree(it doesn't have updates for your Branch) in hopes you can help me. I will also attach the land deed from Jean Babtiste acquiring the land in 1859 signed by President Buchanan.
I also may have pictures you may want copies of.
I know that Franklin Bader (Alice Collins Son, Alice is the Daughter of Caroline Fameree Collins who is Odile & my Grandpa Joe's Sister), he has many boxes of old photo's & correspondences from the Fameree Family & he even has the original spinning wheel of Claire Stuter Fameree (Jean Babtist wife) that they took on the ship Gertrude from Belgium. I would like to go to his home in Indiana to view & take pictures of some of these things.
Well I have rambled too long now, again I'm so glad that you emailed me & I hope you enjoyed the Blog site.
I will include you on future notifications of the updates.
If you should know of any other interested Family members please share this info with them.
Also let me know a little about yourself & Family, send pictures too if it's not too much trouble. Kind regards, Jean Fameree-Miller
